Coordinate plane
A coordinate plane (Cartesian plane) is a plane formed by a horizontal line (an axis) and a vertical line (another axis) that intersect at a point called the origin.
A plane containing two perpendicular axis (x and y) intersecting at a point called the origin (0,0).
A point position is denoted using pairs of coordinates (x; y) , e.g. A(3, 1).
The coordinate plane is divided into four sections, called quadrants.
Quadrants are named I, II, III and IV, numbered in an anti-clockwise direction.
Quadrant I has positive x and y values
Quadrant II has negative x and positive y
Quadrant III has negative x and y
Quadrant IV has positive x and negative y
