Volume

Volume

Volume is the amount of space in a certain 3D object.

For instance, a fish tank has 4 feet in length, 1 foot in width and two feet in height. To find the volume, you multiply length times width times height, which is 4x1x2, which equals eight. So the volume of the fish tank is 8 cubic feet.

Metric Units  –  Volume

1000 cubic millimetres, mm3= 1 cubic centimetre, cm3
1000 cubic centimetres, cm3 = 1 cubic decimetre, dm3
1 000 cubic decimetres, cm3 = 1 cubic metre, m3
1,000,000 cubic centimetres, cm3= 1 cubic metre, m3
1 litre, l = 1 cubic decimetre, dm3
1 milliliter, ml = 1 cubic centimetres, cm3
1 deciliter, dl = 100 ml
1 liter, l  = 1 000 milliliters, ml
1 m3 = 1 000 liters
