Litre, l, L

Litre, l, L

A litre is a way to measure how much liquid something can hold. It’s like a big bottle size. We write it as “L” or “l”. When we have just a little bit of liquid, we use millilitres (mL). One litre is equal to 1000 mililitres. It’s like having 1000 tiny drops of water.

Some things that can hold 1 litre are:

  1. Glass Jars: Many glass jars designed for food storage come in liter or 32 fluid ounce sizes.
  2. Carton of milk: Often found in 1-liter sizes..
  3. Large Shampoo or Conditioner Bottles: Typically come in one-liter sizes for liquid soap storage.
  4. Plastic Food Storage Containers: Available in various shapes and sizes, with many designed to hold one liter.
