Integer

Integer

Integers can be positive, negative, or zero. They are used to count things, measure distances, and represent quantities. Integers are also used in many mathematical formulas and equations.

Here are some examples of integers:

  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, … (positive integers)
  • -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, … (negative integers)
  • 0 (zero)

Integers can be represented on a number line. The number line is a horizontal line with zero in the middle. Positive integers are to the right of zero, and negative integers are to the left of zero.

Integers can be used to perform basic mathematical operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Here are some examples of mathematical operations with integers:

  • 1 + 2 = 3
  • 5 – 3 = 2
  • 4 * 2 = 8
  • 10 / 2 = 5
